Painted pickguard
WebJun 5, 2024 · A prior owner painted this pickguard. It's chipped some to reveal black under neath but it's ok for this particular look. If you do it, make sure to scuff sand with high grit sandpaper so the paint can grab better, then clean with something to remove any surface oils and any oils from the plastic itself. WebMar 28, 2009 · Hi there - I have a 72 fender Jazz that someone in it's past life had painted designs on the original pickguard. It looks like spray paint, it looks like it has been there awhile, and it looks hideous. It covers over 3/4 of the pickguard. I bought a replacement pickguard, but for obvious reasons I would like to keep the original pickguard.
