I had to do that when I connected my PC to my 1080p TV. If I used 1920x1080 the desktop icons were only 1/2 showing on the screen. WebJul 24, 2024 · Changing resolution didn't help. This is the first thing i tried. Chaging to different resolutions makes the icons and taskbar appear bigger, but didn't change their relative positions. They still fall outside the screen. When the icons and taskbar are bigger, more can be seen because they're bigger. But they're still got cut off at the edges.

However, when I try to connect the monitor using HDMI (both directly from the laptop port or on my 3005pr USB 3.0 Port Replicator) all of the edges of the screen are cut-off.
