Those (mainly Shia) who observe Ashura, haven't been known to sacrifice sheep as a commemoration for the sacrifice of Hussain, it could have been mixed up with the Eid celebration sacrifice. Some may have done it as a charitable gesture, but it has no other religious basis and is extremely uncommon.
